Sometimes Muslims are just as ignorant as the people they call ignorant.

Muslims want to be treated as regular citizens and want others not to compare us to terrorists or tell us to go back to our country. We complain about generalizations made about our religion and how we shouldn’t be stereotyped.

Makes sense.

What doesn’t make sense are the Muslims that turn around and talk about other religions and make jokes about their holidays or beliefs. What kind of hypocrisy are we on right now? Are you serious? If you already know that we’re on thin ice, begging for the right to exist without being treated like criminals and murderers all the time and you want the right to practice your religion without it being mocked..why the hell are you mocking someone else’s? You don’t have to believe in their religion or celebrate their holidays. You don’t have to put up a Christmas tree or eat Thanksgiving dinner if you don’t want to. You don’t have to hunt Easter eggs or light a menorah.Yet you go out of your way to talk shit about people that do or laugh about their traditions. They do the same to you and you’re ready to march in the streets.

I’m not saying we don’t have it hard and I’m not saying we won’t always be the “hated” religion in the west. What I’m saying is if you don’t want to be hated, don’t hate others. If you want to be respected, respect others. If you want the right to practice what you believe, allow that right for others. We’re never going to get anywhere if we can’t let go of our arrogance and ego in order to actually be part of the societies we want to live in. Why fight so hard against prejudices just to harbor them yourselves?

Omg, this.
