Blogging in the grave

islam2011:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

My dear followers and whoever may read this,

There is something I wanted to say for a long time but for some reason I always held back. As you know there are many wonderful Muslim bloggers on Tumblr who post beautiful things regarding our religion or just general advice that can benefit everyone.

I praise everyone for their good efforts and ask Allah to reward them for it.

However there are also some ”not so nice” post so to speak, and I am speaking in particular about people posting seductive pictures of themselves, or reblogging/posting pictures that are inappropriate for a Muslim to look at.

We all know that posting such things is not allowed in Islam, but that is not what I want to discuss here. What I want to discuss is what will happen to your blog after you die.

Imagine that you pass away and you are lying there in your grave, needing every good deed that might come to you from your righteous deeds in the Dunya, or from something that you left in the Dunya benefiting others, or from Dua from the living for you, or charity from them for you.

Now imagine your blog, and how it contains inappropriate things, and how people will still look at them after you have passed away. People are watching something inappropriate on YOUR blog, and you are lying in the grave, what effect do you think this will have on you in the grave?

Will it benefit you? Will it protect you? Will it increase your bounty in the grave?

But what about the good that you leave behind? The beautiful Islamic quotes, stories, reminders and more. Imagine someone reading the things you posted and then perhaps, through one of your posts, feels remorse and returns back to Allah.

Or imagine a Imam by accident stumbling upon something you posted and using it in his Friday Khutbah. Or someone seeing one of your beneficial posts and sending praises upon you who posted this.

Will it benefit you? Yes, Will it protect you? Yes, Will it increase your bounty in the grave? Yes.

So please think about this and straighten your blogs now that you are still alive and able to. Do it for the sake of Allah and for your own benefit in the life hereafter for we will be questioned about everything, and one of the things that we leave behind is our blog, so let it be something that benefits us instead of something that might cause our destruction.

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
