We are a people that insist on instant gratification instead of seeking out patience and true reliance on Allah to handle our affairs as He knows it to be best for us. We should focus on doing our best with what we are given, and not expect anything because everything is unpredictable, and everything is for our betterment when we trust in Him.

Staring out into the ocean, with no land in sight. The world seems so unimportant because here and now, it’s just me and the Most High. I raise my hands in supplication, in search of some direction, in life and in sight, as I seek out clarity in the purest of ambitions. The wind and water hit my face, like pellets of reminders, that the air and water I depend on can hurt me just as much as they nourish me.

How blessed we are to live in a world where everything has been created with such detail by God. Take a second to reflect on that, and recognize how we so often forget to show gratitude for it. And this goes beyond just physical creation. Allah has planned it all out for us, such that our lives are in a place where we should feel pure comfort knowing that He, the All-Knowing and Most-Loving, will never put us through anything we can’t bear, and will always guide us through whatever life brings our way. With Him, there’s never a chance at failure, merely opportunities to learn, grow, turn back to Him…all of which ultimately lead to reaching success in this life and the Hereafter. Allahu Akbar! (God is the greatest!)

When we first stumbled upon the concept of deen, we had this strong urge in us to memorize qur’an. We could not bring our dream to reality but still do hope so. In our research to look for a hifdh madrissah (islamic school), we hopped up to this degree in detailed islamic education called ‘alimiyyah’. 

This is an attempt to clarify the concepts of becoming an ‘alimah (islamic scholar), about your queries on taking up this degree along side your job or studies or just your household routine, insha’Allah.

Without Allah’s help, we can not help anyone, not even our own self. When we see misguided people, we can show them the path of guidance, but nothing can force them to tread on that path, except Allah. Do your part and  step away. Don’t make people hate Islam by demeaning their entire existence or attacking their self-esteem through non-stop warnings and reminders. Fear Allah because He can turn around our whole life and Imaan in just a seconds. 

Often, we get pulled in to the thrills of life and forget our responsibilities. We get so intrigued with “having fun” that we forget to be thankful and grateful to God for giving us all that we have, for protecting us from the hardships faced by others around the world. Take a minute while you’re out there enjoying life today, and remember those struggling, regardless of how big or small their struggle. We all face ups and downs in life, and God never burdens us beyond our scope, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t challenged. Rather, it means that we are given opportunities to grow and become better, to get closer to God through worship, remembrance, and seeking His Help, and to find internal peace in our personal journeys so we can have the strength and determination to spread peace to every soul we touch.
