Clear Quran ›
Assalam Wa Alaikum, I just wanted to share a site I found helpful in the understanding of the Quran a little bit for anyone in search of the Quran in a more story like and more modern English. I hope someone else finds this handy like I did. Salam :)
Asalaamu’alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh!
I have to conduct an interview for a creative nonfiction class. I decided it’d be best if I interview Muslims like myself! :]
I chose Islam for obvious reasons:
a) Media portrays the religion of peace horribly
b) pure ignorance of the religion and its people
c) Hey! I’m Muslim and that’ll be something new for my class to learn.
I’d like to get as many answers as possible, although the best will be entered into this interview. I’ll let it be known that I’ve conducted this interview with a group of people. So, please do me the favor of passing this around (tag whoever you think would respond).
To people answering: I want your permission if you would like me to state your name in the paper. I can also keep it anonymous. That is perfectly fine.
1. What does your faith mean to you personally? Socially? Culturally?
2. How do you live your faith day-to-day?
3. How easy or difficult is it to practice your faith in the United States?
4. Which portion of your sacred scripture, the Qur’an, is most meaningful to you and why?
5. Which is most challenging?
6. What holy places are especially significant to your faith? Why?
7. Have you ever been on a pilgrimage to a holy place or sacred site? What was it like? Are you planning to go in the future? How important is it for you to go?
8. What role does your family play in the practice and living out of your faith?
(Also, if anyone has better questions that could be put into the interview, let me know & please answer your question for me!)

I’m opening up a blog dedicated to early Islamic/Arab scholars, scientists, and great minds. I’m naming it The House of Wisdom after the library in Baghdad. Anybody wanna join in or contribute ideas? You can contact me here, insha Allah :)
