As you can tell, Ali is really young mashAllah. Before I get into describing the actual video, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude and love for this young soul whom Allah has blessed. If you search his name on youtube, mashAllah, you’ll get a lot of hits (and it comes as no surprise as well). But parenting, you’re doing it right. He’s almost like a child, but at the same time, he’s not subhanAllah. I pray that Allah blesses us all with children who strive at such a young age to attach themselves to what they find to be truth. I pray that Allah guides us all towards that which is true, and allows us to strive towards perfecting our potential to exist in a form that Allah finds to be successful.

In terms of the video, this just might be my favorite one. His description of Khadijah is ever so lovely, and his majestic poetry and recitation of supplication is beautiful. It’s only 15 minutes long, so please, feel free to listen inshaAllah.

Ya Haqq. This is a beautiful Khutbah. Absolutely beautiful and honest. I think it is about time that the Muslim community looks at the racism and ethnic schism within our communities. We need to also ask ourselves why it is that rally around some causes and ignore others. The imam asks, “If Trayvon Martin walked into this Masjid, how would you treat him? If he was a Muslim and asked for your daughter’s hand in marriage, what would you do?”
